Dryer

Indie rock outfit DRYER formed in 1992 in Saratoga Springs, NY, and quickly became a staple of college radio and the small club circuit. Led by co-songwriters Rachael Sunday (bass/vocals) and Bob Carlton (guitar/vocals), DRYER made their debut on Paint Chip Records with the 7″ single “letterbox,” introducing their melodic co-ed indie sound.  After cycling through various drummers, the band landed on a solid lineup with Joel Lilley behind the kit and recorded their first full-length, 1996’s  Saturday In Vain.

Throughout the remainder of the 90’s, the band toured heavily, recording for a number of different labels and even drawing some interest from Atlantic Records, recording demos for the record label.In 2010 DRYER  release of Strut and Fret, a 31 song collection of released and unreleased material that spanned from 1993 to 2002.  

In 2014, DRYER expanded to a four piece band with the addition of Brian Akey, the former bass player for The Winterpills. Brian’s music background found him touring with bands such as Cake and Fountains of Wayne, and had once played in a project with Frank Black of The Pixies.
